Editorial Policy and Sources
Every page on this site is researched from public agencies and industry standards, checked against those sources before it goes live, and reviewed again on a set schedule. We publish typical price ranges, not promises. We don’t publish paid reviews, and health and legal pages give general information only.

Research
How is our content researched?
We start from the questions Los Angeles renters, homeowners and landlords actually ask, then answer them from primary sources. Facts about mold, health, laws and agencies come from the organization responsible for them, not from other mold company websites.
When a source and a common belief disagree, we go with the source and say so. When the evidence is limited or disputed, we say that too, rather than picking the answer that sells more work.
Sources we rely on
- Health: the CDC, EPA, California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and World Health Organization (WHO).
- Remediation methods: the ANSI/IICRC S520 standard and EPA mold cleanup guidance.
- Renter and landlord rules: California statutes, the LA Housing Department (LAHD), LA County Department of Public Health and city code enforcement offices.
- Contractor licensing: the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
Each guide ends with a short sources list. Agency phone numbers are checked against the agency’s own website before they are published.
Review and updates
How are pages reviewed and kept up to date?
Before a page goes live, its facts, prices, phone numbers and links are checked against the sources it cites. After that, pages are reviewed on a schedule, and every page shows a visible “last updated” date.
| Page type | When we review it |
|---|---|
| Cost guides and price tables | At least quarterly |
| Agency contacts and renter pages | At least quarterly, and when an agency changes its process |
| Storm and seasonal pages | Before the rainy season and after major storms |
| Wildfire recovery pages | When new state guidance is published |
| Health and legal pages | When the cited agency or statute changes |
We may use software tools, including AI writing tools, to help draft and check pages. Every page is still checked against its sources before it is published.
What we promise
What are our rules on prices, reviews and claims?
Prices
Prices are typical Los Angeles ranges, not quotes. Your written quote depends on the job and is given before any work starts. See the remediation cost guide.
Reviews
We don’t pay for reviews, write testimonials or publish ratings we can’t verify. You won’t find invented job stories or “500 happy customers” claims here.
Claims
No scare language, no “100% effective” promises and no staff names or credentials we can’t back up. If we don’t know something, the page says so.
How do we handle health and legal topics?
We’re mold professionals, not doctors or lawyers. Pages in our mold and health section stick to what agencies like the CDC and EPA say, avoid diagnosis or treatment claims, and tell you to talk to your doctor. Where a topic is disputed, we describe it neutrally.
Pages for renters dealing with mold and for landlords explain the rules in plain language but are not legal advice. They point you to Bet Tzedek or a tenant lawyer for advice on your situation.
Corrections
How do I report an error?
If you spot a wrong phone number, an outdated rule or a price that doesn’t match what you’re seeing, call (213) 659-0672 or use our contact page. Tell us the page and what you think is wrong. We check it against the source and, if it’s wrong, fix it and update the page date.
For more about who we are and how the work is done, see about us and our inspection and remediation process. Site rules are in our terms of use.
Questions about our editorial policy
Are the prices on this site quotes?
No. They are typical Los Angeles ranges to help you budget and compare. Your written quote depends on the size, access and materials involved, and you get it before any work starts.
Do you pay for or write reviews?
No. We don’t pay for reviews, write testimonials or post ratings on this site. We would rather show you sources and prices you can check.
Is the health information on this site medical advice?
No. It is general information drawn from the CDC, EPA, CDPH and WHO. We’re mold professionals, not medical providers, so talk to your doctor about symptoms.
How often are pages updated?
Cost and agency pages are reviewed at least quarterly, storm pages around the rainy season, and other pages when their sources change. Each page shows its last updated date.
